Our Team
Dr. Corrine Searle – Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. Corrine Searle graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon and returned to her hometown of Langley to begin her veterinary career. After working at several local veterinary hospitals, she joined Paws and Claws Animal Hospital in 2009 and became the owner in 2020.
Dr. Searle enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a particular interest in preventative medicine and helping pets live longer, healthier lives. She values building lasting relationships with clients and providing practical, individualized care for their pets.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Searle enjoys swimming, travelling, and spending time with her husband and four children.
Dr. Chris Wessell – Veterinarian
Dr. Chris Wessell graduated in 2013 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. He joined the Paws and Claws team in June, 2023 and he’s been a welcome addition with his experience and compassionate care. Dr. Wessell grew up in South Surrey, BC and caters to two felines at home: Penny and Eugene. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, gardening, testing out new recipes for dinner, and travelling.
Dr. Chantale Duval – Veterinarian
Dr. Chantale Duval graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. Originally from Manitoba, she moved to the Lower Mainland after graduation and joined Paws and Claws Animal Hospital in 2025.
Dr. Duval brings a wealth of veterinary knowledge and a compassionate approach to caring for her patients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, exercising, reading, travelling, and relaxing at home with her two cats, Penny and Eugene.
Jenn – Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Jenn is from the Langley area and after graduating from the University College of the Cariboo in 1998, she started providing care to dogs and cats in her home town. Jenn is an immensely kindhearted, knowledgeable, and hard-working Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a special interest in learning and furthering her knowledge of veterinary care. We are thankful for her dedication to our patients since 2003 at Paws and Claws! When not at work you can find Jenn being walked by her Australian Shepherds, Coda and Caity, and camping with family and friends.
Janet – Veterinary Assistant
Janet graduated from the Veterinary Office Assistant program at Granville Business College and brings over 25 years of experience in veterinary medicine to Paws and Claws. She enjoys all aspects of her work, particularly getting to know our clients and their pets.
Outside of work, Janet lives on five acres with her husband, two sons, three cats, and a flock of chickens. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, and growing Christmas trees.
Hannah – Veterinary Assistant
Hannah began working in veterinary medicine in 2019 as a receptionist before moving into a more hands-on role as a Veterinary Assistant. She joined Paws and Claws in 2025 and brings a calm, compassionate approach to patient care. Hannah also has a passion for horses and is an apprentice equine barefoot farrier.
Outside of work, Hannah enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, reading, and karaoke. She shares her home with her Labrador, two cats, and her horse.
Sarah – Veterinary Assistant
Sarah joined Paws and Claws as a Veterinary Assistant in April 2026 after completing her practicum with us and graduating from the Veterinary Administrative Assistant program at the University of the Fraser Valley. She brings a positive attitude, a love of animals, and an eagerness to learn to our team.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys dancing, puzzles, gaming, and spending time with friends, family, and her pets, Hazel and Kiki.
Luis Passos – Veterinary Technician
Originally from Brazil, Luis graduated from UniRitter University with a degree in veterinary medicine. He has experience working with dogs, cats, and horses and brings his veterinary knowledge and experience to his role as a veterinary technician at Paws and Claws.
Outside of work, Luis enjoys spending time with his wife, Iza, and their pets, Apolo and Simba.
Kurstin – Veterinary Assistant
Kurstin graduated from the Veterinary Office and Animal Care program at Douglas College and joined Paws and Claws in 2024. She enjoys caring for animals and building relationships with their families, bringing a friendly and compassionate approach to her work.
Outside of the clinic, Kurstin enjoys skiing, painting, thrifting, and spending time with friends.
